Status: Migrant. Last recorded on site in 2021
This species is State Endangered. It is in danger of extinction as a breeding species in the state of Illinois.

At this time of year, this species is unexpected on site.

Occurs as an uncommon migrant in small numbers over the larger lakes. Though birds have occasionally been sighted during summer months, there is no evidence that they might be breeding on site.
