At this time of year, this species is expected to be present on site.

Occurs as an abundant, year-round resident. Roughly 10 to 20 pairs nest on site. These can be found in marshy or wet areas throughout the lab. In winter numbers rise into the hundreds and sometimes thousands. Over 10,000 were recorded on the 1986 "Christmas Bird Count".
