At this time of year, this species is rare on site.

A rare but increasingly regular migrant, first recorded in November of 1989 on the Main Ring Lake. The second record was a juvenile on Lake Law at the end of October of 1991. A number of records occurred in 1993; two adults on the Main Ring Lake in the spring, and three juveniles in the buffalo pasture throughout the latter part of October and all of November. It is now being recorded regularly in both spring and fall. On November 23, 1997 a juvenile of the extremely rare "blue morph" color variant was found on the Main Ring lake.
