Occurs as a common migrant on the larger lakes. One bird was seen on Swan Lake in January of 1999. A male and female pair were seen on Lake Law on the 21st of June, 2008, which was the basis for classifying them as possible breeders for that survey period. A Ruddy was found in a flooded Sea of Evanescence the last two weeks of June 2015 (last previous sighting was May 14th).
