At this time of year, this species is rare on site.

Occurs as a migrant and summer resident in the rank grasses and restored prairie. Breeding has occurred in at least four locations on site; In damp, rank grasses by Eola Rd, in the restored prairie by Holter Rd, in the restored prairie along Pine St, and near the garden club marsh. The numbers of breeding pairs, if any, varies enormously from year to year.
