The Patuxent web-site provides more general information about this species.
At this time of year, this species is uncommon on site.

This species is usually seen flying overhead, singly or in small groups, during spring and fall migration. Summer records of birds soaring over the western half of the site have occurred regularly since 1992 and suggest that a pair has bred either on site or nearby.
